The Benxi Pavilion of the China Geological Museum was built in 2007, covering an area of 12,000 square meters and a building area of 4,200 square meters.
The museum displays the geological relics and prehistoric geological relics in the Liaoning Benxi National Geopark, more than 30 national treasure-level precious specimens, 540 rare specimens, and 468 ore specimens.
Among them, the Pterosaurs of Yixian Mountain in Mount Jingang and the Ma's Swallow Eating Fish are the only fossil specimens in the world; the Sinosauropteryx and Tail-feathered birds are the most exquisite among the few specimens in the world; Group turtles and Jiulongbi are fine fossils, and they all have high ornamental value and popular science value. In 2011, it was rated as a land and resources science base.
